Lava today has launched a new smartphone in India dubbed Lava Z61. The budget friendly smartphone is priced at Rs 5,750, and runs Android Oreo (Go Edition). The smartphone comes in black and red colors, and will be available from today at 80,000 retail stores across the country.
As a part of launch, Lava is offering the smartphone with some deals. Along with Reliance Jio, the company is offering an instant cashback of Rs 2,200. The amount will be credited to the customer in the form of 44 cashback vouchers worth Rs 50 each. These vouchers will be available inside MyJio app, and can be further used to purchase recharge of Rs 198 and Rs 299 plans. Additionally, the company is also offering a free one-time screen replacement within the first year. The offer is applicable till September 30.

The Lava Z61 is powered by an unspecified 1.5GHz quad-core processor, along with 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. There is also said to be higher-end variant, which is expected to come with the same 16GB storage, but with 2GB of RAM. Pricing isn’t mentioned, but the variant is touted to launch in August. Alongside that, the smartphone come with 5.45-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

In the photography department, the Z61 features an 8-megapixel rear camera that is supplemented with auto-focus feature, and LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies. Connectivity options includes dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro USB port. The device runs Android Oreo (Go edition), and packs a 3,000mAh battery.
