
The Lava A93 seems to be targeted at first-time smartphone users.
As technology moves forward, most people want to be on technology’s bleeding edge and ride the wave forward. One of these waves is the access to a faster 4G connectivity which has now become a common feature in every smartphone. However, Lava has launched a new smartphone called, A93 that comes sans 4G. The 3G-enabled smartphone is priced at Rs 7,999 and is listed on company’s official website revealing full specifications of the phone. The Lava A93 will be available to purchase in gold and grey color options.
In terms of design, the smartphone comes with a full-metal body. At the rear, you have the camera and LED flash placed at the top center. Right next to the camera module is the speaker grill. The Lava logo resides at the center of the phone. There are two antenna bands running parallel to each other at the top and bottom of the phone. Up front, you have the capacitive touch buttons and the power and volume button placed at the right-hand side.
Lava has aimed at more miss than hits with its A93 smartphone. To begin with, the smartphone doesn’t come with 4G connectivity. Next, a smartphone priced at Rs 7,999, and it runs rather older Android Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The smartphone could face a strong competition from the Xiaomi Redmi 4, Nokia 3 and Moto C Plus smartphones. The Lava A93 is most likely for the late adopters who want to familiarize themselves with the ‘smart’ phone world. As per the listing on the site, the Lava A93 boasts of a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an unknown 1.2GHz quad-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt memory. The expanded further up to 32GB with the help of a microSD card. On the camera front, the smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera also with LED flash. The rear camera supports HD video recording, HDR and timer features. Armed with 3,000mAh battery, the smartphone supports dual SIM and OTG. Other features of the phone include gesture support such as flip to mute.
